Final reflection

My topic was about The Matrix and how artificial intelligence was displayed as pessimistic in The Matrix. Artificial intelligence within this movie takes over the very people who created them. Throughout my research I have learned how to critical think about my topic and how to build a strong argument while using resources to validate my position. My advice for future students would be to really focus on structure and using the proper resources to defend their argument. I was always annoyed and frustrated when having to use databases such as gales virtual research library or LexisNexis , now I actually enjoy using these engines and I find them easy to use now. I believe, the milestones are great because each one helped my paper get stronger. Do not ever miss a milestone would be main advice. If students do each milestone the final draft should be no problem because they have been working on it the whole semester. Each milestone helps because it builds students paper and makes it better with each milestone. Also research speed dial was the best. It made research so easy. it helped us access any data base we wanted with just a simple click.

Are Hollywood Films Realistic?

I believe holly wood movies does not all capture facts right about true stories. Sometimes true stories can not always be completely interesting. Therefore in order to make the movies that are true stories more interesting, there may be certain aspect that  the creators add on in order to make it more indulging.  I agree that we can learn true things from realistic, popular films. Whether is be moral or just facts, I do believe we can learn from popular films especially film that have an inner deeper philosophical idea behind them.  I can trust Hollywood movies as a reliable source to an extent.

Sample Research Paper Response

Based on the sample paper for today, there are certain things I would do the same and different in comparison to the sample. The author of the sample paper introduced the quotes thoroughly, I am going to use a similar format that the author used because she thoroughly described the quote in relation to her thesis. One thing I would do differently would be the work cite page. I am going to type the in essay citation next to the work on the citation page, so that it is easier to find. I learned from the sample paper that the format in which I wanted to write my paper is similar and is a valid format for the required criteria for the class.

My Research Topic

  The topic for my research paper is  "Portraying Robots in Film". The movie I am choosing to write about it " The Matrix". I am choosing this movie because I enjoy philosophy and this movie has philosophical ideas within it. The theory I am referencing to would be the "do we exist" and can we rely on perspective to come to an accurate conclusion. In order to have a valid argument and understanding of something you must build the argument on information that can not be doubted. If your prospective can be occasionally doubted then perspective should not be relied on to validate our existence.
